Volkswagen of America has reported 34.1% rise in its sales in the country to 245,739 units during the initial six months (H1) of 2012 when compared to 183,191 units sold during the same period in 2011.

The carmaker's sales during June have risen 27.3% in July 2012 to 37,014 vehicles over 29,066 units sold during the same month in 2011.

During June, the sales of the company's Jetta model declined 13.3% to 13,629 units over 15,713 units sold during the same month in 2011, while 9,007 Passat sedans sold during the month when compared to 1,183 sold during a year earlier.

The company had sold 2,839 units of Beetle, 2,966 units of Golf, 2,966 units of Tiguan, with 740 units of Touareg model during June 2012.
